You could find what compels you and what you think might enable you to live in a high-quality manner.
Aim to live your life in the state of consciousness, which is “being meaningfully engaged”.
You could discover that and a part of the way you discover it – is by watching, observing, and listening to yourself.. And learning when is it that you are “meaningfully engaged”.
You have to notice that, it is something that happens to you in some sense, rather something that you do. Notice when you are “meaningfully engaged” and work to expand the amount of time that you spend in that state.
Of course, there are moral requirements to that too. You can’t torture people or be violent because that wouldn’t be something you would like to expand on, or at least humanity wouldn’t want.
If you are going to set up your life so that you maximize meaningful engagements, you have to do other things as well. You have to be very clear about who you are, and what you are doing. Or at least try to be, have an idea.
One of the things that you have to do is stop deceiving yourself and other people in whatever way you possibly can. If you engage in deception or any sort of misleading, you pathologize the structure of your being. You can no more trust yourself and your reports.
You better make sure you do everything along the lines of saying the truth and be thruthful to yourself. Make authenticity one of your highest values, so you can at least trust yourself.
How you define “meaningfully engaged” is up to you. The challenge is to notice.
What compels you?
