How Much Water Should You Drink?

Much more is the answer in most cases.

Drinking other types of liquids does not hydrate you. That is making the building of drinking enough water harder. They are new drinks coming out now and then because some people find a way to make extra cash. That doesn’t meant that it is better than water. The reason is that all the isotonic drinks contain some amount of sugar 4-8g in most cases. Some of them even more – up to 20g. Not to mention energy drinks which are extremely bad for your physiology. They make you hyper-alert and if you stick with them too much at some point you will feel a lack of energy when you do not get your favorite drink. Stick to coffee in that case, I am not recommending more than 1-2 cups a day. Preferably not every day. Also, keep in mind that coffee dehydrates you. So that increases your daily ration.

Water is Energy, Source of Life and Love

There is a scientific research I have read about water and they proved that water responds to words, music and even thoughts. The molecules are changing shape, turning to snowflakes and other beautiful shapes. Dr. Emoto has conducted these experiments.

Quantity Per Day

First of all, it matters if you are a woman or a man, apparently men need to drink more than women.  It can be between 1-2 liters difference, depends if you are working out or not. So to point it out woman usually need to drink around 2l and men around 3l per day. And that is considering non-active people. If you are working out at least 3 days a week and sweet hard during that time, you will need to consume approximately 1-2 more liters. So that makes 4l for men and 3 for women if you are physically active.

Is that too much for you?

Before I understand the importance of that simple habit, I have not been used to drinking so much water either. It just takes time, time to develop that taste, that trust. But to do that effectively you need to cut all sodas, avoid alcohol and energy drinks. I have to be honest, do not drink too much coffee either. I had that habit to drink massive amount of coffee and that makes you dehydrated. Start increasing your water intake by a glass per day and see how that goes. And remember what does not get measured, does not get managed. Perhaps download an app(to keep track of your daily water intake) or remind yourself, or ask your co-worker remind you.

I love my new cup

It is effortless to put a big bottle or cup of water next to you when you are sitting on a desk. That also helps you focus on your work and not get distracted when you get thirsty. I find that essential for productivity. I have seen people to also use water bottles, whatever works for you the most. But try to avoid plastic bottles and glasses. Besides this setup, drinking more water is going to make you go more often to the restroom, and flush out the toxins from your body.

  • Overcome hangovers and headaches, even prevent them
